Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Choresy ("the app", "we", "us") collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. Choresy is a family chore-management app.

Information We Collect

To create an account and sync a family's chores, we collect:

• Account information — the email address you use to sign in (via Firebase Authentication).
• Family & profile data — family name, member display names, avatars/icons you choose, and the relationships you set up (e.g. adult vs. child member).
• Chore data — chores, schedules, completion history, and reward/point balances you and your family create within the app.
• Purchase status — whether you've purchased or subscribed to Family Plus. Payment details (card numbers, billing address) are handled entirely by Apple's App Store / StoreKit; we never see or store them.

How We Use This Information

We use the information above solely to operate the app: syncing chores and rewards across a family's devices, authenticating accounts, and unlocking purchased features. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising or third-party marketing.

Where Your Data Is Stored

Account and family data is stored using Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore (Google Cloud infrastructure), encrypted in transit. Data is only accessible to members of your own family group.

Notifications

Chore reminders are scheduled and delivered locally on your device — we do not operate a push notification server and do not receive any data when a reminder fires.

Children's Privacy

Choresy is designed to be set up and managed by an adult, who creates the family and adds member profiles for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children; child member profiles (name, avatar, assigned chores) are created and controlled by the adult family organizer.

Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained for as long as your account exists. To request deletion of your account and associated family data, contact choresyapp@proton.me.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
